MBA profile

Hey, wanted to see if i have any chance at a US MBA? I was thinking maybe McCombs? Came from a non target uni in Canada, did bad in terms of GPA. Landed a solid job, got promoted to Manager at top4 bank. Not sure how this experience will offset my low GPA. Would a higher GMAT help?

age: 25
sex: male
background: pakistani
CGPA: 2.77/4.33 (B-)
GPA (last two years): 3.3/4.33 (B+)
GMAT: 720 (V-42, Q-47)
Work Experience: Currently manager at top 4 bank (youngest on team) in analytics. Did two 4-month internship and one 8-month internship.

“Average GPA for students enrolling in full-time MBA is 3.44. Middle 80 percent of GPA range is 2.91-3.88.”

You might barely be able to make it into McCombs. Possible you need a 740 or 760 GMAT to make up for that GPA.

I looked into MBAs quite a bit. Business schools are at their peak right now, if you look at trend lines of the top t20-30 schools in the US because of COVID applications skyrocketed. If you plan on applying during COVID times 2022-2024(for people who entered in 2022) I would suggest two things 1) Increase your GMAT to 730-760 and 2) Spend the money on a good consultant to help you out or if you know someone at your job who has gone through the MBA process with similar stats(this might be hard since people tend to hide their scores, unless they're all stars)

I strongly believe a MBA out of T30 isn't worth it. As a Canadian we're going to pay a premium in exchange rate most likely while if you return to Canada you're earning $CDN and paying loans back in $USD.
