Miami Hotels

Some friends and I are looking to escape NYC and head down to Miami for a weekend soon, and do some partying. Does anyone have any advice for hotels to stay at? We're not trying to break the bank, but don't want to stay in a hostel either. I've been looking into the Surfcomber, Shore Club, and Eden Roc, if anyone has stayed at those. I've never been down there before, so any advice of places to go to would be helpful.

Thanks

Shore Club is sick, especially for the Sunday pool party. If you plan on going during spring break time or Ultra be prepared to break bank.

Shore Club over Fontainbleu. Shore Club is really close to other cool hotels, and staying there gets you easy access to the Delano (its sister hotel), which has some cool stuff inside (the Florida Room, it's outdoor bar.)

Depends on what area you're interested in. If you're interested Miami Beach, you can't go wrong with the Marriott South Beach. You'll have tons of restaurants, nightclubs, and the beach within walking distance. If you're interested in the actual city of Miami, Intercontinental is a good choice. Your within walking distance of Bayside, downtown miami, and the metro rail, which connects you to other parts of Miami such as viscaya, brickell, pinecrest, etc.
