West, near Times Square
I assume the area near Barclays/MS. Toasties by the Barclays building was a go-to. Roast, Naya, Dos Toros, Dig, Little Beet, Sophies, Lenhwich, Meltshop. There is a food hall thing between the UBS and BNP buildings, closer to 7th. There are a few food places in the underground rockefeller plaza thing (Potbelly, a mediterranean place, a bagel place, a sushi place, + some more). When its warm out, the food trucks and carts on 6th were good options.
I hated that area b/c of its proximity to times square, hard to find decent places that weren't chains. If you have the time and can walk over to 9th there are plenty of restaurants that do takeaway specials during lunch hour but I recommend ordering online first

Whole Foods hot food bar. If you can accurately judge the weight, this can be one of the cheapest (and tastiest IMO) options in midtown.

Midtown East (Boutique row on Park) - I absolutely love Uncle Gussy's food truck (usually parked in front of 345) Get the greek salad with chicken - unreal and way better than the dry protein you get at other salad places.
Also, Omar's Mediterranean has 2 locations and is the best shwarma in the city. I will die on this hill. Be ready to fall asleep after tho
I thought the 55th/3rd caught fire or something? I feel like their schedule has been weird for a while, sometimes I would drive by during lunch hours and they would be closed even though google maps said open. But yes +1, portions are big as hell and you will not be productive afterwards
That was like 2ish years ago. I'm pretty sure the 55 and 3rd one is open (I order delivery from there fairly often but haven't actually been recently admittedly)
Also - there's a DOPE al pastor cart on that corner, at least there used to be before COVID. No idea lately.
