Migraines - wearing an icepack in the bullpen?

Not satire.

I was diagnosed with chronic migraines late last year. Rotated between a number of preventative and abortive medications. From first generation anti-depressants to the triptans to injectables. They help. But what helps the most is when I grab an ice pack and balance that bad boy on top of my head or wrap it around the front of my head with a old rag or t-shirt. I know I'll 10000% get clowned for this by the boys but this is the only way I can actually be somewhat functional when the migraine attack hits. Any advice on how to do this without looking sus. lol

This. A very good HS friend of mine and his little brother had very bad cases of migraines where they had to miss days of schools at a stretch (sometimes a whole week). It is brutal to deal with and no one should clown you for doing this. Not sure what my friend does work-wise nowadays but I do know his little brother is a doctor despite the migraine issues he's had his whole life.

Migraines suck. I’ve only had 1-2 and it was severe. Lights and sound made it worse.

Pink is trendy right now - you should get this. Your coworkers will love it.

the only thing that works for me is ibuprofen (advil) and an anti sickness tablet (if I don't take it I vomit my guts out for 8-12 hours)

however seeing as how prolonged ibuprofen usage apparently destroys your wedding veg, I need to find something else

I worry how much I have already damaged my kidneys and live at such a young age. I am on more medications in my 20's than my 80 y/o grandfather was. Sigh

People may ask about it the first time you do it but if this is the solution it's fine... people are not assholes, doubt anyone is going to really roast you for a medical thing

I would buy and keep the nice migraine hats in the work freezer for this purpose as an ice pack with a rag will be less comfortable

Yeah I posted that link as a joke, but it actually looks like a good solution in black. I would probably buzz my hair so that you don't get hat head (hair).

i already have one of these hats but they are cheaply made. they stay cold for 15 minutes max even if you freeze all night. i am thinking of shoving my own ice pack into the cap and sew it up. that way i get a coolhead for like 2-3hr
