Milan and Rome

So I scooped up two tickets with emirates two for 800 round trip to Milan deal and I'm going towards the end of March.. Would love suggestions of places and things to see and do, I'm definitely a foodie and wino and ancient history nerd as well for sure haha. Think I'm gonna snag the park Hyatt Milan in Milan and the IQ hotel Roma in Rome - the Hyatt is dependent on me scoring the two free nights at any hotel from the chase Hyatt card so if anyone has a great 200 a night recommendation I'm all for it

Traveled to both cities this summer. Don't have much in the way of hotel suggestions as I stayed with a cousin working in Milan and splurged on the room in Rome.

Milan - See The Last Supper. You will have to book well in advance for this and you only get 10 minutes to see it, but worthwhile. The Duomo in Milan, there's also an old opera house, Teatro alla Scala, which is beautiful, could go to see a show if you wanted.

Rome there obviously is tons of history. The Coliseum, the Roman ruins, the Vatican. Just depends where you want to go.

My biggest suggestion is to make reservations wherever you want to go in advance online. Keep in mind everyone flocks to the major attractions. Might take some effort to get them booked and cost a bit extra, but when you can bypass packs of school kids and tons of tourists, it's very worth the trouble. Also lets you focus on seeing the things you want to and not wasting your time standing in line.

Sorry I'm not much help on the hotels and food - hope you have fun.

La Scala was great. I second booking in advance. The time of year you are going isn't really high tourist time so you should be good. There are so many churches and crypts to see that you can just wander and see endless amazing get things.

I stayed by the Piazza Saint Eustrogio and liked it a lot. Gotta see Castello Sforzesco. Get to the last supper on time.

I ate my last meal at Ristorante Rugantino. Loved it. Let me know where you eat as I plan on going back.
