Thread of the Week:

This week's Thread of the Week would also garner the Rocky Balboa prize. @"upod01" gave non-targets everywhere some hope with his inspirational tale of breaking in with a non-target background. The post was "Can a Non Target land a IB SA? With hard work and persistence it definitely is." and it proved once again that anything is possible with enough hard work and dedication. The thread brought in 17 Silver Bananas and a Tweet. Nicely done.

Comment of the Week:

Comment of the Week this week goes to @"SilvioBerlusconi" for his comment in the thread "NYC is pointless unless you're rich or either in college". We love to bash NYC, but the fact remains that it's about the most baller place to live on Earth, especially if you're single.. That's what Silvio was alluding to when he quipped, "NYC just ranked #1 by Business Insider's "25 Best Places to Roll Dolo" so I don't know wtf you're talking about." The comment earned him 7 Silver Bananas.

Grizzled Veteran:

The Grizzled Veteran award goes to @"BOTT1702" for his epic thread, "What I Learned From Losing $1.2 Million". His somewhat dour view of the world of trading was spot on and really took me back, and his advice was top notch. The post earned 16 Silver Bananas and 4 Tweets.

Most Active Monkeys:

@"matayo" led the pack this week with 105 banana ponts, followed closely by @"KarateBoy" with 102. Everyone else trailed by a large margin. Let's step it up, monkeys!

New WSO Certified Users:

I wanted to take the space here to thank and congratulate the new Certified Users from the past week. Welcome to the club. Some of these are new members, but all have confirmed that they work in the indicated industry at the level selected on their profile. All Certified Users have a gold star next to their usernames when posting in the forums, so you all know which sources you can trust the most. As WSO Certified Users, they get i) 3 months free to the WSO Job Board ($45 Value), ii) access to the private Certified User chat room to network with other professionals (priceless) and iii) a free ticket to attend the 2014 WSO Annual Conference in New York on June 28 ($200 Value!). Without further ado:

Eddie, to understand @SilvioBerlusconi comment you need to read some of the OP's other threads from that week. The comment will immediately be 100 times as funny.

Typical MO was the generic comment or one liner that was no value add, epitomized banality and ignorance.

Best characterized as part of the serial "band wagon" commentariat.
