Moving into NYC

Making the move into nyc next year … hoping to move into a Studio/live alone. Is that possible / will it be too expensive? I’m working at an EB towards the Upper East Side and looking to not pay over $2800 for a studio. Thanks!

How are we supposed to know if it is too expensive for you when you have provided no information?

If you're a recent graduate looking to find an apartment in New York City, approach this with a few considerations -

First, pick which part of the city you want to live in. Each neighborhood has its own characteristics and differing costs of living, so pick one that aligns with your budget and that is ideally close to your office.

When it comes to budgeting, remember that nyc is expensive so your budget should include rent, utilities, groceries, and some allowance for leisure activities. Also don’t overlook additional expenses such as security deposits and broker fees.

Remember that you can consider moving to locations that are slightly farther out from manhattan but still have good public transportation access. This can reduce your living expenses while staying nearby the more fun areas of the city.

Having roommates is also an effective strategy to manage costs. I share an apartment with a few other guys and this helps with rent

Make sure to research and explore different neighborhoods and housing options. Be patient and thoroughly research to find the right place
