Moving to Dallas soon, wondering if I could get some perspective on the lifestyle out there and good (affordable for a first year analyst) apartments to live at. I'll be working at an office in the Klyde Warren Park area. So far I'm looking at Carlisle on the Katy Trail. Thanks for the input!

Quick tip on housing: If you haven't secured housing use an apartment locator. They are free and know of all the best deals in the city. I was apprehensive to use one at first but they really make a huge difference. They usually get you a lower rate than what is advertised as well.
Haven't heard much about Carlisle. I have some friends that live in Victory Park and love it. Although I hear traffic sucks when the mavs or stars are playing. Feel free to PM me.
Knox Henderson area is way better than living in Uptown
Agree one hundred percent! I also think Knox Henderson, and Lower Greenville are more fun than the Uptown bar scene.
This is correct, area has really come up these past few years.
Would disagree here. Knox-Henderson is a good place to live but is not yet fully developed. You still have your fair mix of SMU kids that split a duplex 6 ways and throw fraternity parties every other night and the sketchy neighbors that have different 'guests' over at different times throughout the day....
I don't disagree with your statement but the amount of violent crime that occurred in very close proximity to my former residence in Uptown was intolerable. I recognize there are shady areas around Knox Henderson but Uptown attracts way too much heat.

Some of the decent Dallas apartment buildings that a lot of analysts live in are glasshouse / the taylor / the katy / modera howell / marquis town houses.
Little out of my ballpark in regards to price - thank you for the suggestions though
Been living in Uptown for 5 years now. Working near KWP, I would live in the State Thomas Neighborhood. Gorgeous, quaint, reasonably priced, everyone is your age.
Look at the Ravello, Manchester Townhomes and Post Worthington... probably in that order.

Uptown, Knox/Henderson, or Lower Greenville. Maybe Victory Park, it’s nice but tends to be expensive for what you get. Deep Ellum is fun and eclectic if that’s your vibe. Avoid anything south of Klyde Warren - downtown is improving but still really not geared toward residential living.
Definitely use a locator - I got an incredible deal through Smart City, and you don’t pay anything.

Been in Dallas for 6+ years, including the full path of school -> IB -> PE, so I have a fair amount of insight on the various apartments and what life is like around here as a 20 something. Feel free to PM.
