I play keyboard/Piano. A steinway model b and a place with a room big enough to fit it is my dream. But I would take a nice digital pipe organ setup with 2 manuals and 32 key pedal board.

I'm not a well rounded player though. I play JS Bach and nothing else. That dude was the greatest genius of all time -- music or otherwise.

I find Lang Lang to be too technical. Valentina Lisitsa is better imo.

Baby you're the perfect shape, baby you're the perfect weight. Treat me like my birthday, I want it this way and I want it that way. It makes a man feel good baby.

I don't play unfortunately, but my brother does and he is a musical genius, I grew up listening to phenomenal music as he improvised. I don't listen to modern compositions now really, only classical works. Thanks for sharing very much, great music on a cloudy Sunday afternoon.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

I've played since I was in 8th grade. Love it and wish I had more time to devote to a somewhat serious band. Ive played small acoustic gigs with friends, such a great feeling. I've got one of the lowest-end Taylor models as an acoustic, still really nice, an American Deluxe Strat, Blues JR Tweed, and I spent a year saving up to buy a small boutique amp which sounds great but I never get to play it outside of the house.

edit: dunno why the embedded vid isn't working but go to youtube and search: 'John Fahey - Poor Boys Long Way From Home' there's a live version, that's the one im talking about.

Took me about 2 months to really learn John Fahey's version of Poor boys long ways from home. Looks easy but those hammer ons are pretty rough

My drinkin' problem left today, she packed up all her bags and walked away.

Martin D15 mahogany accoustic Ibanez RG770 with Line 6 POD Classical guitar, custom made A Ukelele from Costco :) ...and some 18 string thing I picked up years ago and never figured out how to play

I'd really like to pick up an Ibanez S Series at some point, but I just don't have time to play much lately beyond scales/warmups to prevent loss of all ability :/

Edmundo Braverman

I play the shit out of the radio.

Came across this Dave Grohl quote just a few hours ago and posted it on Twitter. I think he's got a point:

At first I thought you were going off-topic/trolling, but then I read everything. Great insight btw, I do feel like the typical garage bands are becoming more scarce; everyone wants to be the next American Idol, whereas that doesn't necessarily mean you won't succeed elsewhere; Idol is for pop, imo.

Also, it takes the joy out of it. I played for 8 years before I ever performed for anyone. I LIKE PLAYING MUSIC and I don't care to hear anyone's opinion. Even now, the most you're going to get out of me is 15 minutes at a coffee shop, I just don't feel the need to try to turn a buck on this and I actually come from a long line of artists. Maybe that will change some day. If people want to go on some TV show to try and get rich, I guess there's a market for it. Whatever happened to people doing what they like, instead of doing what other people like to make money?

I've been playing guitar basically my whole life. I'm playing classical now (I even have a lute...) which is great because I can play solo pieces, or group work if I can find others to play with. I always associated electric guitars with a band, which I don't have time for.

This is a great thread. A whle ago i had to decide to go to school for music or accounting. I chose accounting--music is something I love, and I never wanted to spoil it by forcing it to become a job. Now I play strictly for pleasure.

One louder.

I play guitar. Blues, metal, classical and a bit of folk fingerstyle.

Only two sources I trust, Glenn Beck and singing woodland creatures.
