My GF's dad (GFSD) and I are in tangentially related fields but I have some overlap with his in my wider circle. GFSD has asked me on numerous occasions to introduce him to so and so but the problem is this guy is kind of weird and I dont want his rep to come back to me. I keep pushing him off but he just asked me again specifically and Idk how to put him off anymore.
He also constantly tries to introduce me to people that are wholly outside of my field and while its nice to meet interesting people, they generally do nothing for me and is awkward all around.
He has a generally good reputation and was very well regarded in his field but he has made some questionable moves and had some personally inflicted setbacks in recent years.. He is on the recovery road now but again another reason to shy away.
