Name of process when a business orders change from a bank?
Hello there; apologies if this is really ignorant to ask, but I really need an answer ASAP. A few years ago, during work experience, my manager allowed me to watch the process when he ordered change from the bank and explained why they do this. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't recognise the value of what he was teaching me and forgot all about it until recently (as I am writing a finance-oriented CV). I would greatly appreciate it if someone could name the process and possibly (even by pm) explain it and its importance. Also is it worth adding it to my CV? Thank you.
TL;DR - Would appreciate an explanation of the process of a business ordering change and its importance. Would also appreciate resources where I could read about it for understanding. Thanks.
are you saying like when someone goes to a bank and asks them for money in the form of coins?
I'd probably say something like principal analyst of the precious metals logistics division
Thanks for answering, and I apologise for the vague description; that memory is obscure since it was quite a while ago.
To be specific, I was working in a branch of a major retailer like Superdrug. The manager brought me to a room where cash was stored to be used later on as change. The manager showed (I think he filled a form) and explained how they ordered the change, why it was important (in major retailing), and how they stored it. So to answer your question, I think that he did just go bank and ask them for money in the form of coins.
So provided the (hopefully) clearer explanation, would you still say that the role was along the lines of "principal analyst of the precious metals logistics division."
bro I was kidding, that's not resume worthy
That's a good description. When I was in HS, I worked as a cashier for Harris Teeter. Basically Investments in groceries and Banking on good deals. So I had some early IB experience on my resume.
You may list it as cash reconciliation if you're a student looking to describe your retail experience in more professional terms.
fiat utilisation
to be honest this is not valuable for a finance resume or for finance interviews. If you have any other finance experience, even an internship, I would emphasize that over any type of retail job like this. Or if you don't, then talk about any leadership, initiatives, etc - your resume should emphasize your personal skills and saying you watched a manager order change from a bank is really not a skill
Yeah I realised it was a silly question, I just didn't want half of my cv to be full of leadership roles but I ended up having to do that anyways. Thank you for the advice!
