I do it when I’m super sleep deprived and I can’t focus at all. I personally don’t have much “downtime” but whenever I’m too tired to pay attention I’m too tired to pay attention. My office has a few private call rooms in the back that I’ll go for 15-20 minutes. Think it makes a huge difference and is far better than trying to get things done exhausted.
If you’re up until 5 AM working, sure, it’s acceptable to get a bit more sleep and come in at 10 AM. If you have downtime of more than 15+ minutes during the day, you’re just not staffed properly and need more work to do, IMO

The jobs hours are ridiculous, so why isn't napping to catch up on sleep (increasing productivity) when nothing needs doing encouraged?
Really depends on the shop
