NBA season thus far...

Anyone catching many games so far? Really enjoying the season. Digged deep for the League Pass early this year and games have been really solid.

1) Knicks are looking tremendous. Anything less then ECF is massively disappointing as a Knick fan.

2) LeBron is a fucking beast. He's upped his game further. Can anyone recall the days when we ridiculed him daily?

3) I hate Deron Williams. His sense-of-entitlement is ridiculous.

4) Ditto for Dwayne Wade and Blake Griffin

5) I really, REALLY hate the LA teams. Especially the Clips. The Lakers more for douchebags like this - http://i.imgur.com/C9aUd.jpg

Not from CA, but I have been an avid Lakers fan for my entire life. I spent a portion of my childhood in CO, and the Nuggets were terrible so rooting for them was no fun. The Lakers are the shit, and the next two links are why I am a Lakers fan, and pretty much what got me into sports in general. I do understand why it's so easy to hate on winners, and fake Lakers fans who don't know their shit are the worst. Still get the chills watching these clips:

But I fucking love the NBA and play fantasy basketball. Great season so far, I was worried that the Lakers and Heat would just run shit every night making the regular season more worthless than it already is. My takeaways:

1) Lakers need some work, hopefully D'antoni can iron things out, but still, they are the strongest Western Conference team in a series of 7

2) Memphis, Blazers, Clippers, Spurs all look good, OKC will likely be the #1 seed

3) Heat are hands down the best team. All that needs to be said is Lebron, holy shit.

4) Eastern Conference is much worse than the West overall, Knicks and Brooklyn look quite good

5) Great play from rookies: Lillard, Davis, Waiters, MKG

6) I fucking love the NBA and am stoked to watch basketball and football whilst drinking for the next 5 days - gotta love Thanksgiving break in college

7) Go Lakers, and can't wait for my homie John Wall to get bak to action

It has been an excellent season thus far. Believe it or not...parity. How bout the start of the Bobcats and my man Kemba? Grizzlies look terrific and I think along with the Clippers are the favorites to be the top seed in the West. Why not OKC, LAL, or Spurs? Cuz Clips and Grizz will want to prove something and put 100% into regular season games unlike the other 3 teams who are more proven. Knicks look good. But of course what will happen to the chemistry once Amare reemerges? The primetime matchups have been outstanding so far. It helps that the Heat, Grizz, Thunder, Clips, Knicks, Nets seem to be involved in all of them.

Who's playing for second? It's hard to see the Heat not repeat this year.

It's also interesting to hear how there is this revisionist history around Harden. He's off to a great start in Houston for sure, but no one ever said he was a bad offensive player! And it was just a few short months ago that he had a pretty rough finals. Then again, who in the league would have an easy one with the tear LeBron was on last playoffs? I'm starting to wonder whether OKC is actually as good as they were hyped up to be last year -- remember, the Spurs far outclassed them for several of those games in that playoff series.

Also, it's interesting how quickly lessons are forgotten -- remember when Miami got together and there was a question as to how the ball would be shared? Only Boston was able to do it the first year, and that seemed to be that the guys didn't need the ball to be effective. Fast forward to 2012, and you have Nash and Kobe who both need the ball, Dwight who is a limited offensive player, Pau whose last few years have been head scratchers, and an amalgamation of other pieces that just don't seem to fit. I'm pretty sure as long as Kobe plays, that's not going to be an offensive juggernaut given the amount of shots he needs, and the defensive picture isn't all it's cracked up to be to me.
