New Year Resolutions

Let's discuss New Year Resolutions. Did you make any for 2022? If so, which ones?

I have never done it in the past, but this year I want to give it a try. I have set some "macro" topics, and in each of them I have set some overall yearly goals and some goals that I want to have accomplished by X part of the year.

I don't usually make new year resolutions because I think change should last longer than just 1y, I work off of 5 and 10 year plans and make annual tweaks to get me towards those goals, so maybe that's a resolution, maybe it's not. at present here's what's getting more focus in 2022 versus last year. I'm already doing these things to some extent but I'm trying to focus more on them

  1. improve 2nd language, become conversational in 3rd
  2. continue to stash some cash for down payment on next/forever home (assuming we have kiddies)
  3. 4 international trips or more. only did 1 in 2021, I refuse to be robbed by covid again. I'm vaxxed and have natural antibodies, I'm getting back out there FFS
  4. continue focus on breathwork. began nosebreathing during all exercise last year (running hills, kickboxing, lifting, etc.) and it was difficult but has all sorts of benefits. I need to dive deeper into that
  5. surf more. la nina isn't kind to east coasters but that's a lame excuse, I just flat out didn't do enough strike missions, need to be less shy about telling my partners that it's overhead and I'm not working today
