Nicest hotel you've stayed at?
What's the nicest hotel / location you've stayed at? I'll start:
I'm an LP and every AGM is at a 5-star place somewhere so I've stayed a bunch of nice places. No contest nicest was the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong. My room was on the 112th floor overlooking Victoria Harbour in the IFC building.
How bout you guys? I'm looking for travel ideas...
The Burj and JBH are in Dubai, Palace is in Abu Dhabi. There was a sick one in Singapore but I forget what it was.
I’ve been looking at the Burj for awhile. Looks sick and every room is a suite right?
Honestly it was so long ago that I don't remember for sure, but I think you might be right.
The Marina Bay Sands?
Dude I wish.
I believe there is an absurd Ritz in Singapore. Perhaps that?
Yeah looking at pictures of it online, I think that might be it.
Motel 6 in Gary, Indiana off Martin Luther King Highway.
Seriously? The Venetian in Las Vegas
Gary is THE PLACE TO BE nowadays
General consensus I think in the community is that the Aman series has the nicest hotels in the world right now that are relatively accesible. In the U.S. that means the Amangiri but the one in Greece and Montegero are superb.
For one off hotels, Cuixmala in Mexico.
I've stayed at a lot of hotels, so it's difficult to say which one is the best. These are the hotels I remember most:
Four Seasons Hualalai Four Seasons Bora Bora Aman Tokyo Montage Kapalua Bay The Temple House Chengdu
My friend had a suite in the Grand Hyatt Shanghai - was pretty nice. She was pissed she didn't get the best room in the hotel. She was this loaded blonde Russian chick. Pretty cool. We had lobster and pink champagne in the Cloud 9 cafe, then pre-gamed in her suite before hitting up the Bund.
Grand Hyatt - Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Roomers in Baden-Baden. Felt like I was in a Bond movie.
I love the baden baden area
Any 5 star hotel in Tokyo is the pinnacle of customer service. It's the bee's knees.
Fasano hotel in Rio de Janeiro - stunning and unparalleled service
One & Only Ocean Club - Bahamas (Now owned by Four Seasons)
Four Seasons Lanai - Hawaii
Mandarin Orientals in China are pretty amazing
I've stayed at a Double Tree in Atlanta with a great continental breakfast.
Free cookies at check-in too
Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge (Private Game Reserve)
Kruger National Park, South Africa
Mandarin Oriental, Miami
The home of GoldenCinderblock mother
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok
Old Course Hotel overlooking the Road Hole in St Andrews Scotland
