They said no-homo so you can basically do anything you want now, you're covered.

He was implying that he is not homosexual, yet at the same time would like to connect with you on LinkedIn. Hope this clears it up

I think it refers to spiritual connection only, thus you shouldn't harbor any hopes of crossing the line and venturing out of the confines of the proverbial "intellectual debate" with another person of your sex... Alas, LinkedIn was made to lay out the foundations for such impromptu relationships built upon the growing respect between the two parties involved.

This has been a saying for well over a decade now. Maybe Im just a square, but would probably just ignore. Pretty sophomoric and offputting message from a stranger, definitely indicative of someone who lacks professionalism and cant read a room.

And this is coming from a guy who hates the PC shit.

Nah, you're spot on there with that take. Very much sophomoric slang that ain't exactly professional on any level. If I don't know you and I'm trying to broach a cold introduction on a place like LinkedIn? GTFO. Now if you and I have been working together for a long enough time that we have that kind of slack-jawed congeniality and we both know it's just an off color joke made between just us? That's different.
