Non-Target schools are a joke

Im currently an exchange student at a shitty state school in the west coast. I'm originally from a top European target (HEC/HSG/LSE).

At my home University we would sartistically make fun of people at Big 4. While accounting majors at my exchange school don't even know of the big 4.

Furthermore, the quality of education is shit. "the most difficult senior classes for finance majors" are talking about NPV... The average business student here wants to be a secretary or selling insurances.

Nevertheless, school here is still expensive as fuck. Why do people pay money for this shit?

FYI: I'm not talking about good LAC or Target schools. When I'm talking about shit schools I'm referring to schools like Louisiana state.

"MoneyMakerIB97" Sorry English is my 4th language. Obviously I'm not fluent. I meant satirical.

Hi Macron.

Watch out for the GJs

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

So you’re a dipshit in four languages? Cool

With this and the which majors are smartest thread, you guys just need to skip to the dick pic thread and complete the Insecurity Trifecta

I agree, but some of the people who attend this school have no culture or common sense.

Again, I don't make fun of all Americans. I met some of the most intelligent people in the us. But at the same time I met many uneducated people as well

Completely agree - OP is a dumbass.

But it does bring up an interesting point - yeah, you need that "piece of paper" to get a job at most companies. But when you really think about it, is that piece of paper really worthwhile when you're spending thousands of dollars to take some Intro to Poetry or General Chemistry or useless Geometric math or whatever courses?

Why the fuck are you at that school to begin with lmao? Like if your school is such a target bsd institution, why could you not go to a decent school here?

To answer your question, people pay money for it because at least in the US/Canada, having a degree is super important for obvious reasons. For some people, that's the best they could do, and it's still better than nothing.

Dayman?

haha riiiight

OP didn’t go to Harvard or MIT, ‘cause he could only get into Louisiana State......

Also, he complains about how shitty and expensive it is... yet pays for it... rofl

Even when you compare targets in Europe, the approach sometimes it’s more practical and sometimes more theoretical. I’ve seen plenty of people that understand on paper a concept, but they are not able to put it in practice and viceversa.

What I believe to be the main difference between EU and US is pre-university education as high school is 4 years vs 5 in most european countries.

I’d also add that if you go to a random non-target in Europe, I bet that at least 90% of the students has no idea of what Big4 are.

Lol Dude, you made a post to put down others, but, you also exposed how egotistically stupid you are.

Ever thought that your observation may be highly situational? Have you met all the Accounting majors there? Have you met the top Accounting majors there? Have you met every non-target student in the US (or the UK)? The generalization that "Non-Target Schools Are A Joke" is invalid.

Explore life. Learn how it is to not be like someone from your current background. Talk to some of the kids there and enlighten them. I can guarantee you will also learn from their experiences.

Stop being egotistical and grow the fuck up.

How come nobody knew the acronyms of your "top euro schoool"?

It isn't because of why people think. It's because the American establishment generally believed that getting a degree is the key to success, not perceiving that their doors were opened by the brand of their school rather than their degree. The student loan industry is also business.

A a result we've pushed everyone into college and the requirement to get into basic, entry level, jobs has been inflated to require a college degree. This leads to a huge number of schools that just exist as degree mills for kids to satisfy the arbitrary requirement to have a degree.
