NYC Building Recommendations

Hey all,

I know there are a few people working in finance in NYC on this board....looking for some building or management company recommendations.

I have only really heard about Rockrose, and a few others, but was also looking for some nice buildings that would allow you to walk in and sign a lease, avoiding any brokers fees.

Looking at nicer buildings ideally with doorman/elevator/fitness center; 3BR so we (starting analysts) could afford it. Just curious, as I've heard more recently, how easy is it to negotiate 1 or even 2 months rent free with these larger luxury buildings? I assume they are having a hard time filling spots, even with recent grads moving into the city this summer.

Ideal locations would be Chelsea/W. Village, Greenwich V, East V, and Midtown E/W.

Thanks in advance -

nybits.com is a good site for no brokers fees.

Related Rentals, Archstone, all the chelsea buildings (chelsea modern, the capitol, the caroline, chelsea centro, etc).

They are pretty pricey though. Easily at least $2500/mo for a studio. Probably like 8-9k/mo for a 3BR. I'd look into converting a 2BR.

I've definitely been able to negotiate 1 month free rent in larger luxury buildings.
