OK SAs, We're At The Mid-Point. How's It Going?

I don't have any SAs reporting directly to me this year, I'm just too busy. I've been "promoted" to Senior Mentor and I now have SA and First-Year kids that I look after at my BB. I did my check-in this week with all my SAs because we are now at the mid-point for the summer.

I know my bank isn't the only one at the mid-point. So let's do the same thing here; SAs, how's it going?

I never really understood the concept of a job literally being the focal point your daily life until this summer. This week alone, I missed so much about what’s happening in the world because I was basically in the office making slides from 8am-2am. I also neglected to text so many of my friends and I don’t like losing personal relationships.

Also I question the value of doing this full time. My MD mentor at the start of the summer told me “if you make MD, you can essentially do whatever you want” and I don’t really buy that because as soon as he steps out of the office, he just another random guy in New York. It’s not like anyone cares about our jobs
