Old Man Yells at Cloud (Am I that out of it?)

So, as some of you monkeys may know, I'm a little bit older than the median age around here.  I brought a 22 year old kid home last night and he made fun of me for having a desktop. No shit, there aren't many laptops that can drive the quad 4k monitors I have at home along with all the bloomberg/factset etc. instances I normally have up.* (they also double as my bedroom TV)  I still felt hurt though.  I'm from an age when desktops were normal.

Am I that out of it?  I only listen to N'Sync ironically and I have stories about meeting lady gaga back in the day, plus my instagram is totally on fleek.  I do wear earplugs while clubbing tho, and have a manual sports car not a Tesla.

*work gives me a laptop, but it's nowhere near capable of emulating the turret at work or running my home setup.

I’m 22. I have a desktop because it’s better for gaming than any laptop. I haven’t someone say “on fleek” in years though lmao I totally forgot about we used to say that 7 years ago.

Desktops are still the most powerful. It's not like you're still using a Victrola or something; it's still the leading edge product to use.

welll.... I am still angry dad got rid of gramps old Monroe adding machine back in 98 when he was cleaning out the house.  I've got enough space at work and it'd have been a ridiculous talking point.  I guess I'll just have to deal with having my listing medals and photos from the NYSE on my desk. (Nasdaq just doesn't give good toys for a bell ringing, they don't even have anything to compete with NYSE's nametags.)

Also, Arroz, you kind of missed the point, but what does it matter? You're not hot enough for me anyway.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

at least you closed bro

I appreciate, but I'm annoyed. I always close except in certain odd situations where closing is ill-advised. Yes it was a guy, he seemed to have a nice place in 2 gold, but with a roommate (knowing that place I'd bet 2:1 that he barely had his own room given the suit)

If it makes you feel better I'm ranting on twitter about how we can't make money despite obscene numbers coming from a giant UIT. (Elon Musk's worth less)
