One more year of high school or go to Bentley University?
So I'm in junior year in high school at a school which offers the International Baccalaureate at graduation, but I'm almost definitely going to move back to the US at the end of this year and I am unlikely to go to a school which offers that diploma. If I graduate this year I receive the high school diploma, which is the equivalent of the diploma you get graduating an American high school. However, since I had to apply to schools before I took my 2nd SAT, the only school I could get into was Bentley University with my 1350 SAT score, although I took it again after I got accepted and got a 1450. I want to end up working at a Wall Street job, so should I do one more year of American high school or go to Bentley and try to transfer to a better school later?
Is that the school that always advertises on bloomberg radio?
I'd take a gamble on transferring to a better school later.
1 more year of HS without a doubt. With a 1450 SAT you can apply to all the Top 25 schools that you feel yourself resonate with. Bentley doesn't come close to any of those schools and it sounds like you could be a fit.
Thanks for the advice. So you don't think it would be worth it to go to Bentley and then try to transfer?
As a guy who transferred schools, I would say its a fine option but shouldn't be your first one. If you go to a school with the knowledge that you will be looking to transfer, you are not going to be enjoying your freshman year as much as you should be. And then when you arrive at the school you transfer to you will have missed freshman year and a lot of the initial orientation stuff which helps develop your social/academic life. Transferring isn't a terrible option and I'm definitely glad I did it, but it definitely isn't the same as being at the school you want to be at from day 1.
