One night rental for party

I'm not sure if this has even occurred but a few of my friends and I have been thinking about throwing a party. Do you guys think it's possible to rent a place off Craigslist for one night to throw the party?

might be a silly question but just wondering. late night musing

usually vacation rentals go for 2 nights at the very least. this is good since you can spend the first night partying and the next night fixing any damages.

Money Never Sleeps? More like Money Never SUCKS amirite?!?!?!?

Maybe at a hotel or resort of some sort. But one night rentals for houses are rare, because of the very reason you are trying to find one.

@Friedman: There are no real hotel villa's around me that's the problem, we have looked into that.

@Sayandarula: that's what we've thinking about, we've been looking around for a vacation rental that's affordable.

@Relinquis: A lot of restaurants are looking for a 1K or so down payment before we even step foot in there. We're all freshmen, we don't want to spend too much money. If anything, were going to try to get a hotel suite and see how that goes.

It definitely is possible. That being said, if you look young (which I have a strong suspicion you might), the owners/landlord will figure out what's going on quickly. They will make you put down a large security deposit which they will not hesitate to take if you trash the place--which will definitely happen (I speak from experience here). Just don't let it get too out of control and you should be good.

It is hard to rent a place for the sole reason of having party b/c renters arent stupid...they will make you sign stuff that puts you on the hook for any damage and will make you lay down large deposit. Back in the day I threw some crazy hotel parties but this was out on long island not in NYC and I was way younger...we would just rent out a few rooms next to one another and rent them using a fake ID. They often ended with us fleeing the hotel as cops arrived...good times all around...

The age requirement thing is not a problem, but it's just finding a place that will allow us to have a little loud music. Right now, we're looking at a hotel suite for two nights, nothing too fancy though.

@Bonarb, renting the two room next to each other idea is very clever, we might just do that. And i'm doing it in Boston, so i'm looking at something around the fenway/back bay/cambridge area.

You're not scared about hotel security or anything?? Everytime I went to a Telly (hotel party) it would get busted almost every time. I'd rent a house if I was you, and just rage.

I've been to a few hotel parties and the ones that got shut down were usually the ones at expensive hotels. The hotel we're looking at is in more of an urban setting and the area is not so uptight and I've been to a hotel party in that hotel before and everything went well. The only warning we got was the crazy foot traffic in the hallway, but aside form that it went smoothly.
