Partners Group - Sr. Associate Su*cide

Cobus van Wyngaarden, a Senior Associate at Partners Group in their Zug, Switzerland office, took his own life the other week. My best friend from high school, who is an organist in Switzerland, played his funeral.

My friend called me over the weekend and told me how shocking the funeral was. He said the other colleagues gave very generic eulogies about how hard he worked and how sad they are they won't be able to work on projects together in the future.

He left behind a wife and daughters. He was from South Africa and was an MBA graduate from St. Gallen.

Check in on your friends. It's okay to pursue career success, but not at the expense of your own well-being. Take care of yourselves.

man this is the worst. See it often on LinkedIn as well. Never about how they are as a person
