Passive Investment Ideas

After a year in IB, I've managed to save up about $75,000 (plus a little from when I worked in university). Eventually its going to go into a down payment for a house (after my analyst stint) but in the meantime, I'd like to invest it. Any good ideas outside the standard ETFs? Passive strategies are preferred given the limited amount of time I have to research companies.

damn how'd you save that much after 1 year??

haha i was going to ask the same question...what about investing in real estate or so? it may consume a little of your time but it will also generate nice returns, especially if you can get foreclosure properties.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

Having banking hours and managing a foreclosure property seems pretty difficult

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Typical IB expenses but I had a full ride through university (no debt) and my parents bought be a place in freshman year that happens to be close to where I work now (no rent). Eating out/booze are my only real regular expenses but I'd probably die if I spent my entire salary on every month.

Already highly levered to commodities just from my job and current investments. Probably looking to diversify away from that.

Managing a foreclosure property probably wouldn't pan out, at least not as an analyst.
