Perspective

Spent last night in the ER after getting home from the office with severe chest pains - for context, I'm 33. They're not sure what it was but they're confident it wasn't a heart attack, which is a win.

Lot of thinking to do over the next few days about what to do next, so I don't waste my whole life (next 3 - 5 years, if I keep this up), not seeing my family and feeling miserable.

Just wanted to give a little cautionary tale to the young idiots that keep asking how to "train" for IB hours - maintain your health.

Find yourself working, not for someone else, but for yourself. You have to love it, want to develop it. It's like a child and you learn to deal with it every day

Thanks for sharing this!

We all lose track on what's truly important right until something serious happens that forces us to open our eyes wide. All of us should be better friends to ourselves and "careering" isn't synonymous with a life well lived. It's often quite the opposite, unfortunately...
