Physically mismatched couples in NYC

So I was talking to a bunch of my friends in NYC, and they all told me the same thing: that there's TONS of average and even below-average looking guys with hot girls in NYC. This really confounded me because in every other city, couples are generally well-matched. So you might see a guy who's a 5 with a 6 or even 7 but rarely an 8 or a 9. But my friends said it's not uncommon at all to see a 5 with a 9. For those of you in NYC, do you agree with this observation? And why do you think this is the case?

Nonsense. It's not much greater than any other city. I went to HS in the region.

There is likely a small difference, but that's entirely due to income inequality.

I'm in Chicago and I hardly ever see this happen.

jjc1122Arcanne,

I'm in Chicago as well (Gold Coast), and I don't see this phenomenon either. Most couples are about equal physically.

You guys kidding? Haven't you seen 65 year old Tony in his red Ferrari driving around with a hot 25 year old in the passenger seat?
