Piercings in the workplace
I recently spoken to an MD at an buyside firm and was asking him how finance has changed for black/latinos during his stint. I wasn’t surprised that with what he said about progress having but not enough, very typical. He did say something about how he has a girl with a nose piercing and it was actually something brought up when she first got hired. I have a nose piercing and both ears pierced. I have my FT already but how big is the taboo in the overall space or does it vary place to place ?
It’s something unrelated to anyone’s background or upbringing. It’s kind of like ecigs - totally fine wherever generally speaking, aside from in some office settings in fields such as finance

I’m black/Latino and when I asked him about the culture he brung that up about my earrings how they were taboo before but now people just care about the work you get done
