Please Stop Me From Buying This Thing...

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sal…

This, my friends, is the 1987 Zimmer Golden Spirit, the sorriest (but most ostentatious) idea of a luxury car that only the 80's could have spawned. I have seen these things for sale all over the Web, and while I admit it's an... "interesting" (?) machine, even someone who loves coked out 80's flash as much as I do, can admit this thing is burning rubbish.

So, who wants to stop me from making an impulse buy?

I kind of like this version/color better:

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

To be honest, I don't really know why I like it. I know it seems as though I've crawled out of a malfunctioning time machine, but I am just a fan of excess and everything that comes with it, and the odd and obscure items of the 1980s have always interested me. But I know very well that I would never drive a junker like this one, as it is indeed good money being flushed down the toilet without good reason, so at least I'm not dumb enough to say that I legitimately want it for myself. (It's more like a gag gift that you would give to your nephew on his sixteenth birthday.)

Funniest

Why stop with just the car? At this point, you might as well dress up like Mr. Monopoly with the top hat and bow tie.... lol

Fuck the Golden Spirit, I got sick of that rubbish heap. I want THIS now.

Lamborghini LM002

Girl asks: “what do you drive?”

You: “Lambo.”

Believe it or not, I actually have a bit of restraint and taste when it comes to wristwatches. I'm a big fan of Patek Philippe (almost everything except the Nautilus), Vacheron Constantin, Breguet et Cie, and Blancpain. My Papa was a clotheshorse, and I got my style from him.

But where the obsession with gold-plated dumpster fires and impractical Lamborghini trucks came from, I have no clue at all.
