Popular areas for those new to the Miami finance scene?

Moving to the beautiful southeast for work and looking to get the lay of the land. I'll be living a stones throw from downtown and would love to get some opinions on what spots are either popular or up and coming.

Welcome to the 305! The finance scene here is pretty bleak but its getting better by the day! Are you living in Brickell? A lot of finance professionals here live in Brickell/Downtown and people tend to go out in Wynwood/South Beach/Brickell and Edgewater. The design district/midtown are up-and-coming and boast a lot of nice stores/restaurants. Honestly people tend to avoid south beach given all the tourists, however the best clubs are over there (if you don't like EDM/house). Feel free to PM with questions!
