Possible to live a Patrick Bateman lifestyle in your young 20s?

Thats my goal for when I move to NYC next year. Any ideas what neighborhood is great for a young 1st year in NYC? I'm thinking West Village, Union Square, or Murray Hill.. Thoughts?

This is why I keep quitting this website. At some point, I may go through with it.

Those neighborhoods are all completely different, and Murray Hill is probably the only one you'll be able to "comfortably" afford (with roommates).

Tell us more, Captain http://imgur.com/8c93g[/quote] We once had an intern who brought "damn it feels good to be a banker" to the office to read at lunch, and quoted Batman a couple of times during his short two weeks with us. He had a 4.0 GPA and "Bulge Bracket" investment banking exposure.

You'd be surprised at how much influence pop culture has on the youngsters.

The apartment (rented no owned), brand names, fancy dinners/outings, etc. My very rough estimate is you could complete the "look" on $15k-$20k a month.

But it would be irresponsible to spend like that until you are at least making in the mid-to-high 6-figures pre-tax.

Bateman though of course had family money.
