Productivity Hacks are BS

I have recently seen a lot of first-year analysts posting about how they're struggling to stay focused 100% of their day. As a first-year analyst, I can relate. There's a stigma about the industry that if you don't arrive and work tirelessly until midnight every day, you'll be behind everyone.

Then I found this article

Forget the productivity BS and just do the job that's assigned. That's all there is to it.

thanks for sharing your article with us, sarah berry - productivity hacks are bs.

Amazon is the real life hack. Forreal. Everything to my doorstep like a boss, usually within 24hrs...

Unless my VP is in the trenches with me, I work till I am no longer productive then pop open some league of legends or PubG. Then I watch a show about how some kids are struggling to buy socks, and feel bad i make so much money and get back to work.

doesn't help that my MD sets impossible deadlines to stroke the clients cock. Oh shit you need a CIM? my analyst will pump out a draft for you to review by end of day. Nigga wot m8? its already 3 post meridiem my dude. And so I did, for a portco of the #1tech pe shop, and they shat on me for an hour straight afterwards. "this appears more like the management presentation of a halal stand" "wow resembles a presentation i turned in last minute during freshman year of college" etc.

What concert costs 45 cents? 50 Cent feat. Nickelback.

Is it me or did that article not share a single example of a productivity hack?

There were a few links to other shit but damn, if there's ever a productivity hack that does work it's not getting pulled into the rabbit hole of clicking on links to other articles. C'mon Sarah write something that can stand on its own two feet.

The greatest advice I've seen from this site is that as soon as you realize you want to gtfo the office sooner rather than later you will find ways to be more productive. It's out of your hands at times but still a good mentality. Better than the boners who brag about how sick their life is when they stay late at work all the time
