Psychological Distress During Covid19

Reports say that COVID-related worries have major effects on psychological distress and life satisfaction. Taking care of yourself can better equip you to take care of others. During these times, it is especially important to stay connected with your friends and family. Helping others cope with stress through phone calls or video chats can help you and your loved ones feel less lonely or isolated.

What are your ways of coping up with the stress brought by the Covid19 pandemic?

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

This guy gets it.

My friend bought a townhouse and remodeled half of the second floor into a gym. I was at the verge of getting a depression from isolation/non-existent real life social encounters and he pretty much saved my mental health. Couple other best friends and I have been going to his place to work out regularly since last winter. Both our physical and mental health improved so much during the pandemic, ironically.

This is really badass, like half the reason why I would want to get a place with a yard/garage. Being cooped up in a condo (without a balcony!) is starting to get real old.

that's super nice, it's really hard to be confined in your apartment alone with nothing to do but work. at least you got some social interaction and that saved your mental health.

I bought a rowing machine and did 3 million meters last year alone, they even sent me a shirt for it

Doesn’t your butt hurt after a lot of rowing or you got used to it?

you'd be surprised what the butt can get used to

what I did to survive:

- changed countries several times while WFH (have multiple residences and/or passports and I quarantined wherever I went for several weeks)
- work on my car, did full service and more
- cleaned every place out where I lived in, sold most stuff or threw it away. life is clean now.
- caught up with lots of friends through digital means

only the workouts were missing, gained some fat but went running every once in a while. have dumbbells at home as well.

Almost the same but have to mask up everywhere I go.

It's quite literally as easy as not watching the news. CNN having a death/case ticker in bright red for a year straight doesn't help or inform and servers no use but to be panic porn.

Gutted then remodeled a couple of homes after work / on the weekends.  I found disconnecting from screens and learning to work with my hands more really helped balance the situation.  Also drugs.

So you remodeled homes aside from your work? That's great. Keeping yourself busy is how you coped up with the pandemic. Where are you located?

I exercise and make sure I eat a well-balanced diet to be healthier and have a stronger immune system. I also talk to my family and friends digitally.
