Rant
I was laid off around last year, been looking for jobs ever since and have not had any luck. Recently had TWO MD's push my resume and got me an interview and I didn't get the job bc of lack of experience for an entry level role. I genuinely do not know how to get out of this hole. I've been on top of markets and network/apply like crazy. I have a masters in finance and I've been let go twice (overhiring, RIF). I'm not looking to be a PE associate, I'm looking for entry level TA, portfolio level roles in any asset class. For anyone else in a similar situation, keep going because it is rough out here.
Good luck
Facing this too. Seems like unless you are lucky or very overqualified, you will not get it. Crazy how bad the job market across all industries has been.
