Rant - Annoying Friend Won't Shut Up About Recruiting

Wanted to start this thread because I feel like I've lost one of my good friends to recruiting. It's a bummer, but curious if anyone else has experiences similar. We're essentially brothers (grew up together and went to same schools with same friend groups etc.) but I also don't want to make him feel like he's being obnoxious...

Every time I try to have a normal conversation with him, he either a. switches the topic to recruiting or banking immediately after I mention something outside of it, or b. will deadass look me in the face and blurb out a random technical unironically? I wish I was making this up

On top of this, he just repeats what every random upperclassmen tells him and claims that they're so amazing and that it's a shame I'm not actively trying to be their little bitch boy with him... like my bad...

I feel so bad because he's a great friend but I don't know how much longer I can handle this.. Has anyone dealt with the same situation? How did you solve it? We've been friends for years, and I've brought it to his attention multiple times but it just seems to fly over his head.

Thanks in advance

Had a few friends who were just like this in undergrad - have them help you do interview prep and stuff so you guys can all get offers. Talk to your other friends about more interesting stuff
