[Rant] LinkedIn Became MUCH more restrictive??

Okay, I haven't used LinkedIn in a little while and I'm absolutely blown away by how they restricted how many free personalized connection requests I can send and the character limit was once again reduced from 300 characters to 200 characters. Spoiler alert: it's five personalized connection requests in a given month. Like what the actual heck, guys.

Anyone know a better market to connect with folks since LinkedIn has gone downhill?

So their solution to that is to paywall a basic feature?? They couldn't just create a verification sequence or at least offer discounts to students/young professionals?

Not to mention, this is punishing every single person on their platform. I'm fine ignoring 100-200 folks  a year if it saves me $200+ in subscription fees for this basic thing.

Seems like a lazy fix to me.

Yep. Seems like LinkedIn just dropped the ball in not having any guard rails built to prevent this and decided to proceed with a unibomb of making the whole platform boarderline unusable.

I don't want to log in to assimilate to an echo chamber of egotistic individuals preaching absurdly obvious statements as if their sermons of a modern bible. The number of posts I've seen that just advocate for basic work-life balance, or attitude over education fit, or some rehashed opinion of AI is mind-bogglingly high. I put up with it for the simple reason that the platform acted as a way to discover individuals in positions i'd like to learn more about.

Now that that's gone, I may follow suit and just deactive/use my profile significantly less. Seems like they really shot themselves in the foot.
