Ah, the age-old question of how to devour books while juggling a busy schedule! Here's the thing, I don't believe in speed-reading. I think it's important to take your time, re-read pages and paragraphs as many times as you want. I underline words and scribble in the margins; I enjoy making a book my own. If I don't like a book, then I'll stop reading it, even if it's one of the all-time greats. I don't have a goal when I start a book, I just read and let my mind go.

But if you're looking for ways to fit more reading into your schedule, here are a few tips:

  1. Make it a part of your daily routine. I use reading as a way to de-stress and escape the day-to-day insanity of work and life. It's a great way to unwind before bed or start your day with a fresh perspective.

  2. Choose books that you find interesting. There's no specific ones that you have to read. Pick books that pique your curiosity and you'll find it much easier to make time for them.

  3. Don't force it. If you're not enjoying a book, don't be afraid to put it down and pick up something else. Reading should be a joy, not a chore.

Remember, it's not about how many books you read, but the impact they have on you. Happy reading!

The more books you read, the faster you get.

Agree with what Isaiah said, but the entire point of reading isn’t about speeding through material. It’s to slow down and digest art through appreciation and enjoyment. Learn to squeeze a few pages in here or there, stop scrolling through the gram or TikTok and pick up the book. Hardest part is just getting started.
