I will live to be 117. I plan to practice psychiatry from 80 - 115. Then retire at 115 on the beach.

What job will you get to enable your lateral into psychiatry?
I would go to Columbia Post Bacc Pre Med Program for 2 years and then get a guaranteed spot into Med School.

I don't want to live forever. Frankly, 60 is enough for me. Imagine being 120, you're going to be an old fuck for half your life. No thank you, I'd rather live my life knowing it's finite, then I can add more life to my years, instead of adding years to my life.

Let me guess, teenager or early 20s? When you get older you realize 60 isnt that old nor is it that limiting. Take care of your body and you can do almost anything in 60s as you can in 40s, 50s, etc.
Don't want to do this at all. If I can make it with good health into my 80s and have left behind several children / grandchildren living good lives I'll die content
No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300. Heck, I just read in the newspaper that they put a pig heart in some guy from Russia. Do you know what that means?
I once saw a series of movies with a guy who lived to be 900. He was a background character, you might not have noticed him. Agree with prior posts, his later years he had a serious seagull infestation in his local area. Imagine living to be 899 and getting pelted by seagulls. That would make me say “seagulls, stop it now.”
I expect to live between 85-95 years. I don't have any goals that I can't accomplish over that time period.
I agree that it is difficult to accept that we won't live forever. However, I find it even more distressing that we could live forever. Think about it for a second. Forever. Let's say 1,000 years have passed. Then you realize that you will have to live that 1,000 year period 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times over again. And that's just the beginning!
I believe it's far more likely the transhumanist movement succeeds and enables people to upload their conscious - or some version of it - into silicon-based or some form of reproducible cyborg/android before we figure out how to significantly expand the human body's lifespan beyond say 150 years. That will make for some interesting moral dilemmas in the future.

We’re bankers. Let’s be honest, we can’t last that long being yelled at by our MDs. If it’s not that, do you really want to deal with interns forever?

Need to save enough to be cryofrozen until the real life extension technology is developed so you can pop back into the world

Putin got a pigs heart? Nice to know there’s been an upgrade.
