Rent budget in Chicago / America

So I got an offer in REPE recently with the help of you all, and I've received a VERY surprising alternative option to relocate to Chicago from Asia.

My comp will be around 70k + bonus (likely 10 -20%) in this scenario, but will take it given I was willing to get an MBA to get a shot at getting a abroad.

For all you analysts/associates out there, how much do you pay for rent? How much should I pay in Chicago with wife and no kids?

Not really sure what everyone's budget for living is like in America for junior Finance/Consulting professionals and would like to understand how feasible my pay in America would be like.

Currently, I pay $2,000 for rent for 600sqf 1bd, while I'm earning about 90k in Asia CBD (plus wife works in IB earning 120k).

Also, anyone have any insights on the budget on buying houses for people earning around 100k in this industry?
