Riots in France
Is anyone following this? the MSM seems to downplay it or ignore it all together.
Saw footage of the utter chaos, whole buildings set on fire, even big residentual buildings.
Even the France police threatening the government if they don't get the power to put down the riots.
Shit is fucking wild

I am not French, don't speak French and I have never lived in France. But, I do love the country, their heritage and their people. When I drive to London I always go through Paris or another cute little town on the way.
France is a large country with, surprisingly, the exact same population amount as the UK. Lots of open space and a nice lifestyle.
Not speaking a word of French, I never understood much about their culture and how people get along. There is a visible minority which, according to some, aren't always treated fairly.
Re: behavior of the person driving the rental car.
France had a history of terrorist attacks where vehicles were used in order to harm civilians. Same as many other European countries. Maybe his 17 year old brain didn't connect the dots that aggressive driving may lead to a certain perception of risk. I am not justifying what happened and under ideal circumstances he should be alive now. But the European standard of behavior is to stop when a police officer tells you to, regardless of why. This is how we all do it in Germany, Switzerland, Scandinavia or anywhere else really.
Unfortunately, he wasn't mature enough to drive on public roads. As a car guy, it saddens me this had to happen this way. And I am sure the police officer didn't get up that morning in order to do this either. Communication is key and maybe stopping and having a chat is the way forward for traffic stops in the EU. Most police officers I have met were genuine car guys and almost always really nice.
By watching the CCTV, the cop shooting the boy was definitely uncalled for imo. The boy was not trying to harm or ram into the cop, he looked like he was trying to escape (at least from that angle).
Hmmm
The French haven't won a war in centuries, they are virtually irrelevant to the modern economy, and have little hope for better prospects with a 9-3pm work culture. In my view it barely matters what happens over there (much like Canada)
