Based on the most helpful WSO content, this listing seems like a solid option for someone looking for affordable housing in Chicago, especially in the Little Italy area. Here are some key takeaways and advice:
Affordability: At $875/month, this is well below the typical range for luxury buildings in Chicago ($1,600-$2,200). It's a great deal for someone prioritizing savings or looking for a budget-friendly option.
Neighborhood: Little Italy is a quieter, residential area with proximity to the Medical District and convenient access to public transportation (Blue and Pink Lines, CTA buses). This makes it ideal for professionals working nearby or those who value a peaceful environment.
Amenities: The in-unit washer/dryer, private mailbox, and basement storage are practical perks. While the bedroom is unfurnished, the partially furnished common areas reduce the hassle of moving in.
Roommate Fit: The current tenant seems like a clean, respectful, and fitness-oriented individual. If you're also a working professional who values a quiet and tidy living space, this could be a good match.
Utilities: Splitting heat, electricity, and Wi-Fi is standard, and having water, sewage, and trash covered by the landlord is a bonus.
If you're interested, this could be a great opportunity to save on rent while living in a convenient and well-connected area.
