The Bitcoin saga gets weirder by the day. Newsweek thinks they've found Satoshi Nakamoto, the enigmatic creator of Bitcoin, and they might be right:

As someone who has extensive knowledge of custom model train building, I have never heard of this guy. But I also think that the way model trains are traded - transactions of a few thousand dollars among a small community of people spread around the globe - begs for a one-way payment system that works freely across borders. Japanese people LOVE model trains, and up until the late 1980s, all high end brass models were imported from Japan.

But, I just saw a video where he was almost crying trying to get away from reporters who where chasing him for a statement.
F the media, just leave the guy alone if he wants to be alone.
I think the author probably could have achieved just as much of an impact with the story without revealing his home address, DOB, photo, names of his wife and kids etc. I mean, I get that they want to humanise this mythical character as much as possible, but I honestly think it's grossly irresponsible to put this guy's safety at risk for the sake of a few hits on a news article. This is the reason lottery winners choose to stay anonymous. Instead they basically said, here is a defenceless old recluse with the passcode to $400M in cash probably stashed away somewhere in an unprotected house in suburban LA. Totally understand the backlash directed at newsweek, not just from bitcoin groupies but basically anyone who values the right to basic privacy and personal security over mediocre investigative journalism.

My guess is that given his background, the fact that he worked at RCA back in the 60s and a lot of folks there considered him a genius, the random resurfacing of Satoshi's account after three years, this is probably the guy.
The Satoshi account resurfacing after three years at 2 AM a few hours after a media frenzy involving Dorian raises more suspicion than it quells.
