Seals who got Osama killed in Afghanistan

25 Navy Seals, many from Seal Team Six who nabbed Osama were killed in Afghanistan last night. Pretty sickening how we just lost 31 of our best in one fell swoop.

Still waiting on Obama to make any kind of announcement on this and on the credit downgrade.

Also, I thought what the Seals did was supposed to always be kept secret / unconfirmed. Why are WH officials telling the world that it was the Seal Team 6 unit that killed Osama? Regardless if that is the obvious unit that carried it out, they should still not be outed. Correct?

Edit: Looks like I misread the article. Same unit, not necessarily the same guys. Wonder how many guys are in the team 6 unit?

Michael ScarnYou read the story incorrectly, the soldiers who died were from SEAL team six, but it was not the team that got Osama.

"None of those killed in the crash is believed to have been part of the SEALs mission that killed bin Laden, but they were from the same unit as the bin Laden team."

Still sucks.

Wow that sucks...

It is kind of weird that they would announce that though.

It's also a reason why I couldn't get myself to join the military and leave my son for war... no matter how smart/physically fit/trained you are, you can't do shit about stuff like your helicopter crashing.

RIP

financialmanagement786Regardless how hard I think, I am unable to understand the motivation behind terrorism. It is incredibly stupid.

Motivation behind terrorism? Well, it is quite simple if you see it for what it is. See The U.S. plunders and pillages all over the Arab world for oil and control. Those who were control with traditional Islamic beliefs do not want the U.S. in their countries. I mean all in all, the U.S. has no rhyme nor reason why it needs presence in the Arab world (other than oil and opiates control). See now, the U.S. goes to these countries and literally steals from the welfare of the sovereign citizens and gives it to the political/wealth controllers of these countries in form of oil profits which are then squandered instead of being used to build a stabilized and sustainable economy rich with growth from vast natural resource profits. These "terrorists" as you may refer to them as, are only trying to preserve their nationalist beliefs and culture from a warmongering nation. The only "terrorist" in this situation is the U.S. government....The American public is so brainwashed it is incomprehensible. Flip the situation around, and imagine if a foreign nation invaded the U.S. for its natural resources. Would you be angry? Would you want that country occupying yours? Would you fight to get them out? Its only a rational reaction.

Pretty sure the Patriot Act allows the FBI to arrest you for this anti-American statement. Enjoy simulated drowning

Yes I would go to WAR. But the terrorists are NOT on war. In a war you do not harm the civilians, there are codes and ethics in a war. You fight the soldiers with your soldiers.

You do NOT hide, till dark and than go attack civilians who do not even support the war. You fight the Government you do not fight simple human beings who have no control over war. Terrorism is like Self destruction, where they just keep destroying important things till someone comes and destroys you. On the other hand the purpose of war is NOT to destroy but to rule.

Please do not say the terrorists are on war. They are cowards, who brain wash a 12 year girl to become a suicide bomber.

War has been fought for 1000s of years and even in the deep pasts there has been basic ethics and morals governing the war.

EDIT : Just a little more information about Taliban. They are NOT protecting there own people from the might of the WEST. When they were Genuine Govt, if the women wore nail-polish, they used to cut there fingers, if a men shaved they used to cut there Neck, they used to shoot there own men for fun and make 1000s of women widows, now women were NOT allowed to get out of there home alone and if they did they were beaten by Hunter in public. Imagine a widow whose husband has been killed because he shaved his beard and now she is NOT allowed to leave her home alone. Who will escort her? How will she get food ? Terrorism is NOT war it is a heinous act of crime.

A war can be justified but terrorism can never be justified.

I do completely agree with you about the suicide bombers and doing harm against your own people. This cannot be justified in any terms, no argument there. Large portions of these attacks are conducted by the Taliban regime. In my post I was more trying to point out the fact that sovereign citizens many times get labeled as "terrorists" or "insurgents" for fighting against an occupying military. There is a fine line here and many Americans don't distinguish it properly. Hell, I had friends that served in Iraq that couldn't distinguish it then and probably still can't.

I get your point, you mean that Americans Government is no saint and that is also true.
