Should I sue my school?

Hi, everyone, Messalina here. I have a really embarrassing dilemma that I don't know how to deal with. I hope some of you all round guys can give me some good advice.
It happened not long ago. As an international student, the program at my B school took a whole group of 100+ students for an overnight field trip in a big city (think NY/Chi/LA). There were many international students participating. We stayed in a nice hotel, with 2 person per room. The program made us choosing our own roommate and the ones who didn't choose got assigned a same sex roommate randomly.
When I stepped into my room, I was shocked. There was only one queen bed in the only bedroom. And I saw my roommate, a girl whom I didn't know much, standing there with no clues. I felt bad about the situation so I decided to consult my other classmates.
Some guy told me that this is a very serious issue, especially in the US. He insisted me to directly talk to the director of the program. After a moment of hesitation, I walked to the director and asked for a room change. But the director replied me that most students got standard rooms, but due to the occupancy in the hotel, there were still a few who had to stay in the queen bed rooms. That's what it is and there was nothing they could do for us.
So I guess that was my negotiation all about and I had to return to my room with the other poor girl, sleeping in the same bed over the night. When we were in the bed, we barely slept due to the extremely awkwardness.
The next day, when we met some other classmates and secretly discussed this. What surprised me was that two guys I knew pretty well were also assigned to a room like ours. They are international as well and they spent the whole night sleeping in the same bed in tremendous shame.
Can somebody tell me, is it lawful for my school to put us in such awkward moments? And for the fact that they politely turned down my request, do I have the right reason to sue? and if I sue, what should I expect? How much money should I ask for? Thank you very much.

To also add to the cultural dissonance of this bizarre post, I ran this through google translate several times in other languages, then back into English:

"Hi all, here Messalina. Embarrassing dilemma I really do not know how to treat it. I hope some of you all round players can give me good advice. Not long ago. As an international student, had the program in my school B full range of 100 students from A + to a study tour at night in the big city (think NY / Chi / LA). Participants were many international students. We stayed in a nice hotel, with 2 people in the room. The program provided to choose our own room and decided not to establish a roommate of the same sex to chance. When I entered my room, I was surprised. There was only one bed in the bedroom only. And I saw my roommate, a girl who did not know much, standing by any evidence. I felt bad about this, so I decided to check my other colleagues. He told me that this man is a very serious issue, especially in the United States. He insisted that I speak directly to the Administrator. After a moment's hesitation, and went to the manager and asked to change the room. But the manager told me that most students with regular rooms, but because of the occupation in the hotel, there were still some who were forced to stay in the room with a double bed. This is what it is, and there was nothing they could do for us. So I think that the negotiation was everything and had to go back to my room with a bad girl, and sleep in the same bed at night. When we were in bed, barely slept because of the extreme difficulty. The next day, when we met with some of his colleagues and the discussion of the other secret. What surprised me is the appointment of two boys that I knew also for a room like ours. They are international, so he spent the night sleeping in the same bed every huge shame. Can anyone tell me, is this correct my school to put us in difficult times? And politely declined my request, why do I have the right to sue? And if I can sue, what should I expect? How much money should I do? Much obliged."

I think OP is female. And you weren't forced to sleep in the bed, you could have taken the floor. Good luck making a case out of this, but if you try, you might want to consult a lawyer instead of a forum full of college students.

You do know that you can call and ask for a cot bed right, like an extra bed they'll wheel in for you if you ask? Anyways, please do sue your school, I'd love to see how you could make a case out of this.

Art of WarBack in high school when I went on trips abroad, I always shared a bed with another guy...You could have just put a pillow between you guys.
I think anyone who has to go far enough to show their lack of gayness by putting a pillow between them is actually incredibly gay.

In all fairness I do not think this is an issue with being gay or not wanting to sleep with someone in the bed, its the fact that OP has to sleep in the bed with a complete stranger. This doesn't sit well with me and I would have been pissed too, granted I would probably just sleep on the floor/ask for a cot.

No you shouldn't. I don't even have to read your post to know that. This is a perfect example of what's wrong with the world today... Rather than take responsibility for your choices/actions, you'd rather sue.

thanks all for the inputs. However, I'm disappointed to see how many of you showing this "suck it up" mentality. aren't you americans the ones who call for human rights all the time?

Suing someone over a queen bed in a hotel room? Obviously, you are American.

By the way, go fuck yourself.

I don't know what your age is but if you are over 20, it is easy to figure out that you are not from a well educated family. I may not speak proper English but I know what is a proper way for a gent to talk to a lady. Please stay as away as possible, I don't like guys from streets. thx

Ditto what the above poster said; shut the fuck up. First of all, learn proper English. Second, this isn't a big deal at all and happens all the time. Sometimes you just have to share a bed with someone, it isn't a big deal unless you're a raging lesbian who's scared of getting too aroused by sleeping next to another woman.

sorry we aren't the socialists you wish we were...what are you, french? human rights are the rights to suck it up and worry about your damn self and leave others alone. no one owes you anything and i'm sure you're worth more dead than alive so please, go away.

you should be appreciative to have the chance to branch out from you closed off sheltered world, isn't that why you went on the trip to begin with? why are you even out of the kitchen then?

I don't understand those who cannot understand my anger. There are only three people in my life who can sleep next to me in the same bed: my dad, mom & boyfriend. I feel my privacy has been seriously invaded. Did I tell that the poor girl and I were involuntarily "forced" to sleep together between the damn same sheets?

Then don't sleep in the bed with the girl. Nobody forced you at gunpoint into bed with her. There were alternatives. You simply just chose to freak out instead of staying calm and weighing your options.

But please, sue your school. That way you're on the news and we can see if you're hot.

Are you that homophobic? I don't see how this is an issue at all. How fucking sheltered a life have you had if you've never had to share a bed with someone else?

I'm sure this is just a troll post, but in the off chance this is real, if you're this uncomfortable with a minor inconvenience, don't sign up for study abroad program. You kind of brought this upon yourself.

i can't believe how immature and litigious some people are. you do realize society would come to a screeching halt if the average person was as fucked up as you
