I would say that the eye patch is to strengthen the other eye that is not patched. You Dr. is trying to trick your brain that the patched eye, which ed, must be the stronger one, is off therefore tricking your brain to use the eye that needs the prescription more. It is a matter of pathways to the brain and vision. Once the other eye becomes stringer your Dr. will tell you to stop patching. You can google this. “Amblyopia”
