Skiing in Europe - Which Alps are the pimpest?

So I'm going to be heading over to Europe next January to get my ski-shit on and want to know where the party is at.

Which ones should I go to? Swiss, Austrian, French or... ?

Ta!

alps are alps. actually, if you want a good price for good experience, go to the eastern ones, like slovenia. but generally, the swiss, italian, austrian, french all have excellent resorts.

Ischgl in Austria for partying (some ppl dont even ski, they just go to the après-ski parties and sleep all day). this place is fairly international.

Gstaad in Switzerland if u wanna be part of the American prep-school crowd that prides themselves with spending their winters in Gstaad. this place is pretty international too.

St. Moritz in Switzerland for fine skiing plus plenty of other activities (shopping, polo, bobsledding, etc.). mostly German-speaking ppl but you'll get by with English just fine .

Megève (France) for an excellent skiing resort but less showing off than in Gstaad and St. Moritz. Mostly Swiss- and French ppl, so French is the common language. I'd say, at the end of the day, you can always get by with English but it may cost you a bit more effort than in the other places.

IMHO, in terms of skiing, these places are all pretty much the same. they compare well with the American resorts (steamboat, Utah) that i've been to. it really depends on what u want for your trip. for partying i'd def go to ischgl, if you just wanna ski and get some good food then Megève is the place to be. if you're looking for a combination of both then i'd probably go to St. Moritz since there is plenty more to do there and the parties are pretty decent there too. there's just not as many as in ischgl.

these places are all relatively expensive bc i assume that you don't wanna spend your vacation in a youth hostel with a bunch of European school kids on their 9th grade skiing trip. if you are looking for something like that i have a few suggestions too. PM me for that.

As far as Austria is concerned Ischgl and St. Anton/Lech/Zürs are the best for freeriding, the most expensive and have also great apres ski (ie partying). Expect lots of Brits.

I'm european and I recommend Slovenia (Krvavec and Cerkno are top) if you're looking for value and St. Moritz in Switzerland if you're looking to do some serious skiing. Austria is probably your best bet for partying, never been there but heard good things.
