Smoking Cigarettes + Biting Fingers During WFH

I’ve been smoking cigarettes for nearly 6 years (I’m 22) and I’ve been biting my fingers for god knows how long.

During my internship last semester it was incredibly easy to quit smoking cold turkey because I was working at the office nearly 13–15h a day. Also, I rarely bit my fingers because I wouldn’t want co-workers to see that sh*t.

Now, I’m WFH and I started smoking aggressively because my stress levels are obviously higher than they normally would be during school. Unfortunately, my family members are smokers too.

Anyone else dealing with this? Do you have any advice on how to combat this?

I want to breathe like a 22 year old male should be able to.

it’s gonna be hard to quit bro i tried. it’s easy to go without it for a bit but once you get that terse email from vp/md or just finish a super time crunch assignment you’re gonna instinctively reach for your vape/cig to take the edge of and even if you don’t that unfulfilled craving is gonna add to your mental load it sucks man

For biting fingers, just take a look at them. They must look disgusting, no offense. Your fingernails are something no one will comment on but might make you look bad.

Smoking - Figure out why you smoke, why you want to stop. You smoke because it helps you cope with something. Figure out what that is, and then the next step is to figure out how to cope with that issue with different methods besides smoking.

For example: I've started no fap again (longest stint was 6 months). It's hard in the beginning, but it gets easier after 3-6 days.

For the time being before you get away from your family situation and can fully quit, make yourself do 20 burpees before each time you light up. If 20 burpees is easy then do 30, whatever gets you fully winded.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

OP here. Do any of you also bite the skin off your fingers? I’m a fucking animal I can’t help it

Guilty. It’s a stress reliever for me but it’s a horrible look. I don’t know how to stop and I’m not sure I want to
