Thailand, go island hopping in the south.
Absolutely the move
Really depends on what you want to do. Japan is great for solo travel, Thailand is sick too. Generally would not say the US (unless you live here, but still). Europe is good also.

I'm in the US on the west coast. Something that has a lot to do and explore, that can be easy to get around, so for the most part I'm thinking some type of city to visit. Japan for sure is something I've thought about as an option. A couple different cities in Europe also come to mind, mostly in central Europe. Thailand i'm interested in too, but not sure about the total travel time in getting there for one week.
Assuming you're working FT and taking a week off, Thailand / SE Asia in general might be a bit inefficient in terms of travel time : total vacation. Would look into Costa Rica and other Central American locations for good "value" for your time
I did Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome alone. Lima in Peru or Santiago in Chile are great trips in warm climates now.
Rome is an amazing place to visit. I can't say what I liked the most - the architecture, food, people, general atmosphere. Great for solo travelers.
Brazil is the correct answer.
Like some island maybe will be quite good for you. Like Bahamas maybe, or Phillipines, also good
If you want something a bit unique: Portugal. Much more relaxed than Spain.
Spain is fun but was a bit too much for me tbh.
