Solo travel recommendations

Interested in taking a solo trip. Have never done it before, at least for leisure. Any recommendations for travel of 1 week?

Somewhere warm and sunny right now would be ideal but not a must as long as the weather isn't extremely cold.

Really depends on what you want to do. Japan is great for solo travel, Thailand is sick too. Generally would not say the US (unless you live here, but still). Europe is good also.

I'm in the US on the west coast. Something that has a lot to do and explore, that can be easy to get around, so for the most part I'm thinking some type of city to visit. Japan for sure is something I've thought about as an option. A couple different cities in Europe also come to mind, mostly in central Europe. Thailand i'm interested in too, but not sure about the total travel time in getting there for one week.

Would look into Costa Rica and/or other Central American locations for good "value" for your time. Assuming you're working FT and taking a week off, Asia in general might be a bit inefficient in terms of travel time : total vacation.
