Sorting Alphabetically in Excel

Does anyone know if Excel allows you to sort alphabetically while ignoring certain words (i.e. "the" or "a"). For instance, a sample list of books would read:

The Art of War The Great Gatsby Goosebumps - Piano Lessons Can Be Murder

instead of:

Goosebumps - Piano Lessons Can Be Murder The Art of War The Great Gatsby

This may not be the sexiest way to do what you are looking for, but here it goes:

If you have the ability to edit the array, I would make a column next to it and remove "The " from the start of the titles assuming they are all books similar to the way you listed it. The code for this is

=if(left(A3,4)="The ",mid(A3,5,len(A3)),A3)

assuming the first book title is in cell A3. Once you drag this formula down all of the book titles should be normal except the ones beginning with "The ". I would then copy and paste values of these results in an adjacent column and then sort A to Z which should arrange them they way you want them to look.

If you have trouble with this feel free to PM me.
