What was pelosi thinking in general? She looks way too excited to be there. Biden couldn't care less though, he was pointing and winking at people.

I thought the college initiative was the dumbest of the ideas - if everyone goes to college, who is going to make fries for me?

The healthcare and carbon trading ideas may be decent ideas, but neither of them will do anything in the short term to fix this problem. Obama is trying to use the economy to justify everything on his wish list. He really offered nothing of substance as far as I heard - some pithy words and assurances about banks, cars and economics, but I would have preferred a bit of detail. I suppose I'm not the target audience though...

I think he has provided nothing but rhetoric, but in his defense, he has only been in office for a month. I'll reevaluate a year from now.

You guys are idiots. To say he hasn't done anything thus far is just flat out ignorant. The man has been reshaping the white house since day one. You can call his speech rhetoric or lacking substance....but honestly what the hell do you expect him to say up there. There's been so much negativity everywhere and it persists even towards his speech....... relax get a beer and have some hope.

Ok you're right, we should just sit back and pretend like we agree with paying the mortgages of the people who couldn't afford their house. Not to mention the sudden appearance of government in places never before imagined.

The GOP would cream themselves if they could get Gov. Jindal in office. He would be great but Obama is in for two terms.

Take it for all it's worth.

Honestly, I'm expecting a premarket sell off. Futures (as of now) are already down. I expect them to drop a bit come premarket trading (SPX down 8-10 range). I felt that there was no real takeaway from this speech and was not impressed at all. Honestly, despite the reshaping, main street, the government and wall street can only agree on 1 thing, that shit has hit the fan. What we are seeing now is the government try and fix a situation that they don't know how to fix without screwing people even more. Come to think of it, unless there's a major annoucement during the day tomorrow, I expect the market to sell off any gains we had today and I believe the S&P will break November lows in the next two weeks. We've been hanging there on a technical level and if we fall past 737, we will see a massive drop into the 690 range.

Agreed, that Ruskie bitch is a diva. last thing we need in America is another fucking diva. the future is gloomy my friends, Obama is nothing but a sophist, albeit a AAA one at that. it is very disconcerting and seems as though none of our problems will be solved while he is in office, and we have incompetent bitches like her in office who wish for nothing but to inflate their egos and use their position in higher office as a platform to spew their personal propaganda and ensure their place in antiquity. fucking bitch. so much for blaming Wall St, it's Congress' fault more than anybody else's, as you have a bunch of fucking simpletons making grave decisions that affect people who are actually intelligent. Sorry folks, but America may be in decline with fuckheads like this in charge.
