Sterling Partners in Chicago/Baltimore
All of their funds have been in the top quartile for their vintage, and they have a very good reputation and a great track record. Chicago is their major office, and they were one of the first investors in Chipotle before McDonalds got on board.
Who has heard about comp here? I've heard some interesting things and wanted the download from current / former associates or just ppl in the know.
I know a few of their people through the non-profit group I work with. Pretty good mid-market PE firm based in the chicago suburbs. The commute from the city is a bitch, but the people there seem to like it a lot. I think base should be around 150K for first-year associates.
They have awesome b-school placement as well.
I hear placement is legit but comp is not. Is that number confirmed?
JJC is wrong again, base is definitely below street and not 150k. All in is more likely 150k. Legit place but shortchanges its associates on comp.
